Steph grew up a horse crazy kid from suburban Melbourne. She didn’t come from a family with any connections to horses, pretty much the opposite. Her mum Maryanne, a flight attendant with Ansett, and her Dad Graeme a champion Body Builder and gym owner.  Her obsession with anything horse related led her parents to taking her for weekend lessons and trail rides at a riding school in the Yarra Valley. Here she would spend every weekend and school holiday she possibly could. Going from being a student, to stable hand, riding instructor & camp leader, to eventually taking over the reins completely as the owner of Parkview Riding Centre. She owned and managed riding schools for over 7 years. In this time she has been able to adapt her teaching style to suit riders of any age, experience level and discipline. She spent several years abroad in the USA leading the riding program at the Jameson Ranch Camp, as well as spending several months as a guide in the Sequioa National Forest taking gear out with Mule trains for hunters and fisherman into the back country.

She also worked as a hand on a number of working cattle ranches across California.Steph has worked extensively within the racing industry, from pre-training, racing, breeding and yearling sales. Her horse training experience has spanned over her life time, learning from many great trainers and equally great horses. She has been invited  to participate in a number of horse training events such as the Australian Brumby Challenge at Equitana & The Trainers Challenge at The Man From Snowy River Festival.Steph’s main passion lies in the reining horse industry but doesn’t limit herself in competition and loves the challenge of a new event.

Training the rider is as important as training the horse. We offer individualised riding programs depending on your personal goals and experience level.Steph has many years coaching experience and has a real knack for taking people out of their comfort zone, but in a way that keeps them confident and pushing for more.Whether you are aiming to go to your first reining show, looking to execute a calm balanced dressage test or want to feel more confident on the trail, Steph has the tools to get you there. Our training programs aim to keep the horse enthusiastic about his work and not dampen their willingness to try.

Each horse is looked at as an individual with their own set of requirements. We incorporate a mixture of groundwork, arena work and outside miles. Giving your horse a great start under saddle is imperative to a successful career as a ridden horse. We do not over complicate the starting process, the horse is given the basic tools that will enable him to go forward in any discipline confidently and calmly.A mixture of groundwork, arena work, outside bush & road riding as well as tackling different obstacles.
